Gwangju Human Rights Film Fest starts today

Gwangju. Oh il pal. 518. May 18th. Democritization. Human Rights.

While May is usually the hot month to promote all things human rights related, Gwangju is spreading this peace-loving and citizenship- responsible awareness throughout the year.

Today starts off a four day weekend of events for the 15th Gwangju Human Rights Film Festival. GJHRFF offers three days of films from Korean film history as well as from Tibet, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, and Indonesia.

Starting at 1pm on Thursday and Friday, and at 11am on Saturday and Sunday, you can catch films all day long at the Gwangju Visual Content Center in downtown Gwangju. (Map)

Some films are in English or have English subtitles. Check them out here at koreamaria‘s.
