Jae-won Yoon

Lily-2011-07, Silver & Copper

Artist: Jae-won Yoon
Yoon Jae-won creates a product of combined techniques, drawing from
traditional Japanese metalworking as well as modern digital design and
manufacturing processes. The ancient Mokumegane technique best
expresses the natural patterns of the floral arrangement while the
advantages of CAD/CAM software allow for extremely detailed and
delicate work, allowing for new and innovative designs. Yoon creates a
work of contrasts by a fusion of contrasting techniques, making a
marvel of both product and process.

See his work this Thursday at Eunam Museum of Art in Gwangju-si, Jeollanam-do, South Korea in Hye-Seong Lee’s international art exhibition “Diversity.”  Beginning on Thursday, 25 August and concludes on Thursday, 8 September.  An opening reception at 6pm will be held.  The reception provides an excellent opportunity to meet and to speak with Jae-won Yoon.
