The Nude Collection – An International Artists Community Group Exhibiton – by Mark Eaton

The International Artists Community, which is based in Seoul, is hosting a group exhibition at Gallery Golmok in Itaewon, Seoul, South Korea.  Called The Nude Collection, this exhibit will have more than 20 international artists showing a diverse interpretation of the nude human form.

The exhibition begins with a reception at Gallery Golmok at 5pm on Saturday, March 3, 2012, and concludes on Wednesday, March 14.  Several of the artists will be at the opening reception on March 3.  I am honored to be participating in this show, and I will be at the opening to meet with my fellow artists and to see a lot of creative work.  I hope to meet you there.  Mike Stewart is curating this event.

The following is the IAC press release for The Nude Collection:

In art, the unclothed human form has been a common subject for ages.

We work from the nude figure because of its natural beauty, which the human mind has been programmed through evolution by natural selection to find appealing.

We work from the nude figure because it is (in my opinion) possibly the most complex object to study from.  It is constantly in a state of motion and it can provide a nearly infinite number of possible images as the model and/or artist move in relation to each other.

We work from the nude figure because it is possibly the greatest scale with which to measure and challenge our technical skills.

This collection of images by artists from over ten countries demonstrates the great variety of ways in which this most natural of forms can be depicted.

I’ve been fortunate to have worked with more than a few Korean figure models and non-Korean figure models in South Korea.  While professional, each has collaborated with a creative and artistic flair to assist in creating something worthwhile and lasting.

Please contact me if interested in modeling and/or purchasing any of my work for private or public display.  I also do work by commission.
