April 11, 2013 rant about the Muslim Christian Divide and capitalism, By Doug Stuber, reacting to Peter Crawley

This is reality
>>>
>>>
>>> On February 4th, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia :
>>>
>>> “In Russia live Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia , to work and eat in Russia , should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that’s the state law. Russia does not need minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell ‘discrimination’. We better learn from the suicides of America , England , Holland and France , if we are to survive as a nation. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians.
>>>
>>> The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a standing ovation for five minutes!
>>> Well I myself and most Australians would stand and applaud for at least 20 minutes if our Prime Minster addressed the Australian people this way!
Above by Peter, below by Doug:

and 1,400+  journalists have “disappeared” under the Putin Medvedev Putin regime. How does that make you feel?

I am in constant contact with Elena Katshyshevtseva a noted Russian History scholars, and with Ivan S. Kuznetsov, my collaborators on last years book “Modern Russian History,” which covers from 1917 to 2010.

If you think that the “problem” created when people of religions other than our own move in is best solved by asking them to go back home…ask yourself this: what caused them to leave their home countries in the first place?

If you come up with an answer OTHER than woefully awful US policies and wars, please let me know.

Hence the problem of Islamic Diaspora (the Spanish didn’t like them either, hence the Inquisitions…ugly, right?) has been CAUSED by the Christian World so now the Christian world is stuck with the consequences of ITS own making.

The US, China, Russia, and elsewhere have always found ways to take advantage of the laborers who come to their countries, legally, or, MOSTLY illegally. THE MOST conservative types, like George Bush I and II never actually solved the problems of Mexicans flooding in to the US, because without them, WHO THE HELL would pick our crops for $5.00 a day?

Australia may well learn from this, and NOT let intruders onto the DOLE, but force them to do HOT manual labor at fire-sale wages. Then the decreased cost of food, and/or increased profits for Agribusiness might somehow make up for the nuisance of having to live with people who think differently than we do.

Shouldn’t ANYONE ON EARTH be able to do their best for their families? If not, the brewing war here in Korea is bound to creep us ever closer to World War Three.

Again, as a historian of sorts, the death of Di and Dodi in Paris, when 17 years ago?, may well be seen as the beginning of the slow march toward World War III. With the declining economies now stretching into France, and already well-documented in the USA, and with the top 1% of Americans holding more wealth than the lowest 95% COMBINED (The Economist), historically, the concentration of wealth is problematic. Why? Every single empire that EVER WAS collapsed when what could have been or once was a MIDDLE CLASS got devoured by greedy, corrupt, government-controlling rich folks at the top. ALL OF THEM.

If this is the case, then the USA may well go one step lower than its current economic malaise, and actually lose a war FOR REAL. the “tie” in Vietnam never ended in a democracy, NOR HAS any other military intervention OTHER THAN South Korea ended in a democracy. And the democracy here came after numerous bloody dictators, and not until 1987.

Fanning the Christian/Muslim divide feeds the ill-advised propaganda on BOTH sides of this black and white winner-take-all world. Hmm, I am just still believing human kindness, and the millions of volunteers around the world working in all sorts of ways to HELP other people is more important than what the governments have been doing to line the pockets of the men and women who contribute to their campaigns.

Yes, I fully believe corporate, via GATT 2, IMF, World Bank, etc. now has a firm grip on every government worth investigating. So? Maybe corporate is benevolent, but good luck telling that to the middle class of the USA, who has witnessed the WHOLESALE movement of their jobs to cheaper labor. This tidy fact, that “world trade” and Free Trade agreements TRUMP all sovereign laws of individual countries makes it very hard to re-establish a more worker and environmentally friendly set of policies, everywhere except maybe Germany.

But Germany’s “austerity measures” that have been put on the WORKERS of Spain, Greece, Portugal, etc.(one fear France is skidding again) exacerbate their unemployment problems in RETURN for bailing out their rich bankers. Why? Because the Drachma or Peso CAN NOT return in place of the Euro in the debtor nations because if they DO make their own currencies, the IMMEDIATE devaluation of those currencies will make it impossible for GERMANY to sell their goods in those countries, so…WORKERS BE DAMNED, austerity HO!

Uh, JP Morgan played this game with the help of the IMF in Argentina, for over 100 years, among other S. American countries PERFECTLY by controlling the value of those currencies on the UP and Downswing. Who cares if 70% unemployment arises? It doesn’t matter right? Because when this happens, US industrialists can move in factories and get STARVING locals to work for peanuts. And it is why NAFTA needed a wider Free Trade Agreement of the Americas, so the dirt cheap products could be adding to the PROFITS of corporations, while the US saw MORE jobs disappear. Did you know for over a decade the US has had a standing law providing corporations with a TAX CREDIT for moving jobs away? What kind of country does that? A totalitarian capitalist country that’s what kind.

NOTE THE INDIGNANT sarcasm, where applicable, please.

Wow I was trying to write a poem or think up something for the BLog…thank you Peter, for inspiring my latest rant.

In 1984. after less than four years of Reaganomics, I wrote this, and it has only become more true: “The battle is not between capitalism and communism, but capitalism and democracy.” Care to start a discussion about this?
